Parent Support
NSTI is a non-profit club maintained primarily through the input of parent support. Although the club has a large membership, parent support tends to come from relatively few parents. This presents challenges in maintaining club operations, and also increasingly affects our ability to operate at the competition level, as the competitions are also dependant on volunteers.
Helping out can be VERY EASY and satisfying– read on…

Committee
The NSTI committee is a group of trampoline parents keen to keep the club alive and functioning smoothly. All done on a volunteer basis; there is plenty of opportunity at any time in the year to step in and help out as a friend of the club or as a permanent committee member.
Remember the club will only survive with the support of the parents, but with that support we can continue to develop and build ourselves to make the sport and the club the best it can be.

Competition Support
Marshalling, Canteen, Spotter, Computer/Calling

Each competition requires a number of parents to support the kids and the club and all of these jobs can be taken on with no prior experience and simple on-the-day instruction.

Marshalling: Simply making sure the kids are ready to compete when their turn is due.

Canteen:
NSTI is rostered to assist with the canteen at different competitions through the year. Although this requires a little work it also helps bring in valuable funds to the club. Canteen support is usually simply selling pre-made materials and the odd toasted sandwich.

Spotter: Possibly the most important, but easiest job of all – no experience necessary – simply stand on the corner of the big tramp and fend any trampolinist back on the tramp if they get too close to the edge. Offer your help at any time for as little or much time as you can, this will be appreciated by the few stalwarts who normally find themselves there for the whole competition.

Computer: Don’t be afraid! Scores from the judges are all collated on a computer. To assist this process we need people who can simply call out the scores to the computer person, or type them in to the specially designed and easy to use software program.

Judging
Judging is a fantastic way to better understand and support the sport your child has become passionate about. It doesn’t require any trampoline or sport background, simply a willingness to focus and learn a new skill. GymSports NZ is always looking to develop additional judges and each club must maintain a certain level of judging contribution to attend competitions.
